I searched food neary restaurant, and this was on Googles list. I rang and ordered. My home town is Bradford in the UK, so a good curry is not far away, norvis it hard to find.. sadly in Ireland I have not been able to say the same. That was until now. This curry was amazing. Rich in colour and taste. Compliments to the chief, I will be back. It's worth a good drive to get here. Well done.
Response from the ownerThank you so much! It is a huge compliment to hear that we meet the high standards you're used to back home in Bradford. We are thrilled that you found the food worth the drive and enjoyed the richness of our dishes. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
I ordered better chicken and got korma, unless I'm mistaken and this month they serve it with coconut flakes. If someone had told me they were out of stock and I needed to choose something else, it wouldn't have been a problem. The kwlner pezymiku was supposedly butter chicken but it had coconut flakes and was quite sweet and didn't resemble the dish I ordered.
**Disappointing Experience**
We ordered takeaway from Shapla on the 31st of December, and I regret to say the service was unacceptable. When I called to place the order, I asked the person on the phone to give me a moment to get the Airbnb address. Instead of being patient, he told me to call back when I was ready and ended the call abruptly. When I called back with the address, he struggled to hear me and repeatedly moaned in frustration, even though I repeated myself several times.
When the delivery driver arrived, I couldn’t tell if it was the same person or not, but the attitude was just as unpleasant. We told him to give us a second while we grabbed the cash for our €90 order, and he sighed, placed the food on the ground, and snatched the money rudely before walking away without a word.
As for the food, the quality was equally disappointing. I found a hair in the food, the rice was unsalted, the chips were cold, and the butter chicken tasted like leftover curry sauce from the day before. The only redeeming item was the naan bread, but even that was overly doughy.
I understand it was New Year’s Eve and a busy time, but this does not excuse such poor service and attitude. Customer service is crucial in the restaurant industry, and sadly, none of that was evident during our experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and I hope the management takes this feedback seriously to improve both their food quality and their attitude toward customers.
